The program is designed to help entrepreneurial, high-potential nonprofit organizations to increase their organizational capacity by providing them with direct access to pro-bono business consulting. In addition, by engaging students in business consulting projects, we are enabling them to gain a valuable hands-on learning experience prior to graduation.
Projects are available in six functional areas: finance, marketing, strategic planning, operations, information technology, and human capital. In order to qualify for this assistance, non-profits must be members of Grassroots.org and have achieved GuideStar.org Silver Status.
Since 2006, the program – led by the Center for Social Value Creation (CSVC) at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business in partnership with Grassroots.org – has served almost 200 organizations and engaged almost 500 students in 11 partner universities.
By connecting our future business leaders with social impact organizations that need consulting services, we believe that we can change the world for the better – one student and one non-profit at a time.
